Integration Services in BOL: Is this all I get?

Short answer
NO, the beta or CTP Books Online that you're using is not all there's going to be. Make sure that you watch for the Web release of BOL that will drop around the time that SQL Server 2005 hits the streets! Read more to understand why.

SQL Server 2005 is going to be released simultaneously in 8 or 9 languages. Since the documentation team had to lock down early to allow time for translation, the version of Books Online that you'll get on the CD in the box is going to be several months old. Think of the BOL in the box as Version 0.9, while Version 1.0 will be the RTM Web release. Meanwhile we're working non-stop to update, improve, and add to the Integration Services content in Books Online.

Remember that the BOL feedback links are your most direct route to improved content!

If you mean, will you see updated content silently downloaded on a topic-by-topic basis in your existing BOL installation, unfortunately, no. BOL and the Microsoft Help 2.0 technology that we rely on don't currently support that. The Web release around RTM that I mentioned will simply be a complete new BOL installation...and yes, a rather sizeable download.

We will, at least, be flagging content that has changed significantly so that you won't have to scan all the sections that interest you with the hope of coming across some new tidbit of information.

Integration Services Configuration on Cluster

I've followed the books online help to configure SSIS (move the
MsDtsSrvr.ini.xml file, edit the file to have the correct path virtual server
name, and change the registry), restart all services...and nothing. I can
connect to SSIS fine through Management Studio, but when I click on Stored
Packages -> MSDB it hangs and eventually times out with this error message:
"The SQL Server specified in SSIS service configuration is not present or is
not available. This might occur when there is no default instance of SQL
Server."
I have a no default instance of SQL 05 on a failover cluster.
Also, I've tried every possible combination on the Server section of the
MsDtsSrvr.ini.xml file: server name\instance name, cluster name-.
Is it a dash or a backslash, I've seen different advice in articles, also.

Integration Help

I have a Visual Studio 2005 professional and Sql Server 2005 Express.

I download the 'Books on line for Sql Server' but when call help in VB interface or in

Management Sql Express the message appear:

Integrated help is not available ....

This is a bug?

It would be helpful to know the following information:

1. What version of Books Online did you download? The December 2005 or April 2006 version?

2. In what order did you install the components (VS, Express, Books Online).

3. Did you install Express from the VS installation or did you download SQL Express separately?

1. The version is December 2005 (SqlServer2K5_BOL_Dec2005.msi)

2. I install in order: VS, Express, Books Online.

3. Begin, I install Sql Express include in VS, but do not language brazilian portuguese. I remove this and install Sql Express spk1 (download).

It may be some issue between the December BOL and SQL Express SP1. WIll you please download the April version of BOL from here: (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=be6a2c5d-00df-4220-b133-29c1e0b6585f&DisplayLang=en and see if you have the same problem?

I unistall the Dez/2005 and Install the Abri/2006.
