Intermittent Drill down Problems

I have a report deployed to dev server with a drill down that works
fine. I deployed the same report to the prod server with the same
configuration and I'm getting intermittent problems with the drill
down, it works fine on one users machine, on another when you click the
+, the screen just refreshes and jumps to about the middle of the page.
It does this everytime you try to drill down. Now here is the kicker
the same user can then point at the dev server and the report works
fine. Ive searched this site and at MS all day and can't find a
solution. I appreciate any advice any of you folks might have.
PS I set the logging to Vebose and it didn't tell me anything.
ThanksAlthough I have never seen this... Check all of the Reporting Services Logs
to see if there is anything wierd in there..
Also do a thorough comparison between the Internet Explorer Versions, and
settings between the 2 machines...

Interactive Size/Report Size

Hello,

This is SQL 2005 Reporting Services. I have several reports that are repeating tables with grouped information and subtotals. When deployed, we are noticing that the interactive HTML view renders a great deal more detail per page than the printed version of the report.

This didn't really become a problem until a user reported an issue where they wanted to print pages 93-97 of a 104-page report. She based the page number selection on the page numbers she was seeing in the report viewer. When printed, she did not get the data she wanted to print... and the full printed version is about 50 pages longer than the interactive viewer version.

In my report I have the following settings (no page breaks on the groups or anything, it's just a table with a header, footer, and detail rows per group:

Interactive Size: 11"wide by 8.5" long (landscape)
PageSize: 11" wide by 8.5" long (same as above)
Margins: .5in (all 4 sides)

I get the same thing when previewing via Visual Studio... so I don't think it's a web viewer problem. Are there any options to work around this problem?

I guess not. The reporting rendering behaviour of the HTML is different than the printed one. I didn′t investigate that in detail so far, but I know about this issue that the page numbers don′t match in comparison with the HTML and the PDF export.

HTH, Jens Suessmeyer.

Integrating Rdl to webapplication with parameter passing

<p>

Hi,

i was created rdl and deployed it rdl is working fine and asked parameter prompt and i gave the value report is generated in rdl.

and i was Integrated to Reportviewer in my web application all things are ok.

But how to set the parameter in reportviewer.

could any one help to me.

regards

kumar

</p>

this is easy

First it is necessary to ccreate aReportParameter object (be sure you have a reference toMicrosoft.Reporting.WebForms).The contructor takes two string parameters one for the Name and one forthe Value. A new parameter would look like the code below.

ReportParameter myReportParameter = new ReportParameter("Id",
Request.QueryString["Id"]);

Next, parameters on the ReportViewer are set using theSetParameters method. It takes an array of ReportParameter, so you would have syntax like the following.

MyReportViewer.ServerReport.SetParameters(
new ReportParmeter[] { myReportParameter });

You welcomeSmile,

you can easily do this as the report parameters are list

ReportParameter(ReportParameterName, Value);

I.e.

string strTime = System.DateTime.Now.ToShortTimeString();

RptParameters[0] =
new Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportParameter("ReportParameterName",Value);
RptParameters[1]=
new Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportParameter("ReportParameterName",Value);

and so on

Yes, it works....Yes

Thanks a lot man.
