interesting sql login issue
I have a SQL 2005 server running on SERVERA. I have the management studio
installed on my desktop (Windows XP Pro SP2) and connect to the sql server
using my regular domain login account (windows auth). This worked fine until
I had to change my domain user account's password as it had expired (we have
to change it every 90 days). Now, ever since then, I have been unable to
connect to the sql server in management studio. I get:-
Login Failed for user ''. Error: 18452
If I remote into the server and try to connect to sql it works fine (I am
member of local admin group on the server)
Any ideas'http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555332
Is it possible that you have your Windows auth password hardcoded somewhere?
When worse comes to worse, you may have to drop and re-create your login on
a
SQL Server.

It may also be worth a try of deleting the registration and
reregistering the server.

windows domain login and password?
I have tried dropping and re-creating the login in SQL Server.

interesting connection problem
I am having a problem connecting with SQL server management . I get the error I have posted at the end of the message. However, I can successfully connect with my application. I use the same connection attributes with no success. Same login, same protocol, from the same machine.
Any Ideas?
Thanks!
Tracy

Cannot connect to DEEPSHEEP\SQLEXPRESS.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. Can you connect to the instance locally by using ".\SQLEXPRESS" instead of "DEEPSHEEP\SQLEXPRESS"?
Do you have SP1 installed with the SSMS Express Edition management tools?

Integration with Windows Rights Management
once they are rendered, e.g. to a web site or into a pdf file? If not do you
have any insight into how this can be done? Are there plans to integrate with
RM?This feature definitely on the future list but will not be in the SQL 2005
version of the product.

Integration Services missing from Management Studio
Integration services packages from VS but the Management Studio does
not show a folder for Integration Services so I can manage the
packages from within the Management Studio itself. From what I can
tell from the documentation, I should be able to see and manage them
from within Management Studio. What am I missing?

To work with SSIS you need to use Business Intelligence Development
Studio, that is VS. There is not much you can do with SSIS from Mgmt
Studio.

Integrating Management Studio With Subversion or CVS
I'm wondering if anybody knows whether it's possible to use Subversion or
CVS with Management Studio instead of SourceSafe? We use CVS and Subversion
in our development house and now that Management Studio works with
SourceSafe, I'm wondering if there are any plugins available to make it work
with Subversion or CVS?
I'd really appreciate anyones help on this. If you've already done it,
please post directions on how to set it up or point me to somewhere on the
web that explains it.
Thanks!
Randy M. Franklin, Jr.
After a couple of hours of searching the web, I finally started getting a
clue. Looks like all I needed to do was find a SCC capable plugin for
Subversion and CVS. I'm still having difficulties binding solutions to a
repository, but at least I'm now able to try.
You can find more details of my findings here...
